Hikers alarmed by rainy weather

Fast-moving thunderstorms brought new waves of rain, following days of drenching weather, heavy mountain snowfall and raising fears of mudslides and flooding. The worst of the storm is not over, but Monday promised to bring a spell of clear weather, forecasters said. Things will start to die down as the night goes on, said weather service forecast.
Wind gusts of 60 to 70 mph are reported in some areas.
